Algerian painter. Born in 1971 in Mostaganem ⎥ Degree in visual arts, University of Mostaganem ⎥ Doctorate in visual arts at the University of Tlemcen ⎥ Lives and works in Algeria. Visual artist Said Debladji is considered an innovative creator driven by aesthetic vitality and poetic expressiveness. He is one of the artists who base their own cultures on the foundations of modernity. Debladji constantly projects himself, body and soul, into a watered-down range exploring figuration and abstraction, allusive vernacular references and tightrope shadows punctuate his imbued work. Like a graphic choreographer, he invites dance, sensuality and voluptuousness. The pictorial language formulated is furtive, rejecting order, conformism, rules, revealing a pictorial grammar wonderfully synthesizing his very singular style. Debladji's work is characterized by great chromatic richness and very free pictorial writing. He uses bold shapes and colors to create dynamic and expressive compositions. His works are often inspired by Algerian culture and oral tradition, but they also address universal themes such as love, death, nature and spirituality.
